An Irish Tradition in Dutch Country –
43 Years Strong!
A tradition since the mid 70’s, The Bally Hotel is well practiced at their once a year Irish Wake! Kicking off with the Hoppin Boxcars and Blue Moon glass painting party on Thursday, March 15th around dinner time The Bally Hotel will once again make this a memorable St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
With 44 years of keeping the neighbors up at night during the Greatest Party Bally and the surrounding Valley has ever seen, The Irish Wake at The Bally Hotel will delight even the most critical partier. Wake goers will show their appreciation for Saint Patrick properly by stretching the celebration into 3 long days and even longer nights. The Hotel’s parking lot will transform into an entertainment venue with 3 stages, a 40 foot full bar & yes plenty of porto potties. On those 3 stages The Bally Hotel will feature this areas hottest acts including but not limited to The Hoppin Boxcars, Mike Greer, Whiskey Hicken Boys, Middle Class & of course the much anticipated Chestnut Grove’s St. Patrick’s Day Show! In addition to the live music we have the best DJ beer can buy in DJ Johnny Eclipse; the one and only that has been spinning this event for the last 11 Wakes, each year his light shows and sound system blow away the previous Wake’s experience!
Don’t forget to come hungry because, The Bally Hotel will be serving its’ menu that has been touted as one of the area’s best places to eat, meet, drink & dessert for years now by the locals and passers through, you and yours will be sure to find something to please your palate. The Hotel will be serving lunch and dinner daily 11am-10pm with the exception of Saturday, March 17th. On Saint Patrick’s Day, The Hotel will open its’ doors at 7am to host the most loyal St. Patrick’s Day partiers! At 7am you will find the tent in full party mode with live music, the beer flowing & breakfast type items to help you overcome your hangover and give you sustenance for the day to come.
St. Patrick’s Day will be Saturday, March 17th this year so you know what that means; no work in the morning! With the doors opening at 7am Wake goers should plan to be safe and get dropped off and picked up by friends, family, party bus (patrons on party bus’s will gain free entry into the event) or Uber. The Bally Hotel has been in contact with Uber to make them aware of the possible need of their service the length of The Wake, so please play smart and make arrangements!
As always The Bally Hotel promotes a safe environment for the whole family, however this year The Wake will NOT have a Family Fun Day. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, The Bally Hotel family day will not happen this year. We will NOT be hosting the Coffin Races but want to thank all the past participants that made the races fun and a great success! The Hotel will be open for drinks and light fare on Sunday, March 18th.
As always, we are so grateful here at The Bally Hotel to the Bally Lions Club for their continued support and help with this event and many others throughout the year. To show our community support we ask the Lions Club to provide our patrons with not so traditional Irish garb at the doors in exchange for donations from our patrons. Your support allows the Bally Lions Club along with their 1.4 million service-minded members throughout 210 countries to strengthen communities since 1917. Closer to home the Bally’s Lions Club organizes the Annual Halloween Parades, Easter Egg Hunts and many other worthwhile community causes.
